The River Itchen through Winchester

This large scale oil on aluminium painting was commissioned to occupy a whole wall and fit in with rich teal tones of the room's wallpaper.
First I completed a site visit to Winchester where the River Itchen flows and I captured images of the light on moving water and documented the surrounding foliage.
I was able to build a composition to suggest to my clients and work commenced.
Foliage in the foreground was chosen to compliment the delicate organic forms on the client's curtains.
