Canadian Rockies

'Canadian Rockies' is a large painting created for a client's high-ceilinged room. The use of aluminum as the material allowed for light to play across the icy subject, creating a stunning effect. The client was drawn to the darker, foreboding elements seen in the work of my recent exhibition, and was eager for their painting to evoke the same unsettled feelings. With a small figure shown perilously close to the edge of towering rock formations, a sense of danger hangs over the scene.
A series of composition sketches were provided as we worked to create the client's ultimate vision.
